Ferat Shala

Was born in Vuçak, municipality of Drenas, on 10 June 1964.

Mr. Shala earned his PhD from the University of Goce Delcev in Macedonia. He received a Master’s Degree at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in University of Prishtina.

Since 2006, Mr. Shala is a Professor at the University of Prishtna, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Prishtina and Faculty of Geosciences in Mitrovica (2011), also is a professor at the Tempulli collage of applied technical sciences (2007).

From 02.07.2013, Mr.Shala was appointed as deputy minister in the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.

On 2009-2012 Mr. Shala has held the post of manager in the enterprise "Trepça", this enterprise is under the administration of the Kosovo Privatization Agency. Since July 2010, he is engaged in the Economic Chamber of Kosovo as member of the Board.

Among other professional experiences, he also has conducted important functions as consultant for several companies dealing with construction and mining; Engineer responsible for mine - Trasing Group, (2006-2008).

He has published academic papers in English, Albanian and Serbo-Croatian about issues of environment, air pollution, radioactive materials, lignite-fired power plants, transport on air quality, lead and zinc potentials, residues, kinetic flotation, battery electrolyte production,...etc.

On July 2016, Mr. Shala upon the decision of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, was assigned as acting Minister, While in the meeting that was held on 12/30/2016 Mr. Shala appointed Minister, of  the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning.

Mr. Shala has well knowledge of Serbo-Croatian and has average knowledge of English and German language.

He is married, has three children and lives in Prishtina.
